More hair popping out.
She IS rooted with an interlock stitch, but the needle missed here and there, letting the plugs come back out. She’ll need a full reroot eventually. I can’t stand rooting with curly hair, so I’d have to get her some new hair :\
The vinyl isn’t bad, but her whole body feels oily. It’s either plasticizer or mold release. She kind of smells like fishing lures.
I am very anti-recast when it comes to ABJD.
Obviously, I feel differently with clones of mass-produced, low cost, playline dolls. I have that blue MyScene Barbie clone with a non-Barbie body and this Midnight Magic girl which is thought to be a modified Nefera body with a different head.
I understand if anyone disagrees, and if anyone feels it’s hypocritical, because it is.
I think there’s a HUGE difference considering how small the market for Asian ball jointed dolls is, and the creation process is so lengthy and difficult that literally any kind of knock off (especially since recasts can be really similar in quality) does affect the original artist much deeper than a mass produced item with a much wider audience and that has a huge quality difference to the original product as well as the original company being able to absorb the damage a lot easier than a lot of independent BJD companies.
So yeah I can justify a Monster High knock off since Mattel can absorb the costs, the knock off itself is usually different enough to the original product anyone can usually see its not the original, plus Monster High has a much bigger market audience than a ball jointed doll has.
